Dates are healthy, taste amazing, and maybe there was a way to drizzle dates on the bowls like honey, peanut butter, or almond butter right? It turned out that there wasn’t, so I created one!

Hi! I'm Melissa, I'm 24 years old, and I enjoy long walks down the aisles of Whole Foods and eating my near-body weight in fruit. Dates specifically; they are my absolute favorite fruit! I had my first date when I moved to New York for college and it was love at first bite. Dates are so sweet & so good for you! While in school I started working at a smoothie & acai bowl shop, primarily to eat endless fruit all day long. During my first shift I was shocked to discover that the acai we served was sweetened with sugar, over 15 grams per half cup! It drove me insane and I wondered why we didn't just sweeten the blends with dates. Since launching Wanna Date? As an NYU student I landed a deal with Mark Cuban on Shark Tank, graduated with a degree in entrepreneurship, and now I’m on a mission to make the world a sweeter, punnier place with dates!
